- "1 lb large shrimp peeled and deveined",
- "12 oz smoked sausage like kielbasa, sliced into 1/4-inch rounds",
- "3 cups fresh broccoli florets about 1 medium head",
- "3 tablespoons honey"
- "3 tablespoons soy sauce"
- "1 tablespoon lemon juice"
- "4 cloves garlic minced",
- "1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes optional",
- "2 tablespoons olive oil divided",
- "Salt and pepper to taste",
- "Cooked rice or noodles for serving (optional)",
- "Fresh parsley or sesame seeds for garnish (optional)
In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, lemon juice, minced garlic, and red pepper flakes (if using). Set aside.
Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add broccoli florets and sauté for 3-5 minutes until tender-crisp and bright green. Season with a pinch of salt and pepper. Remove broccoli and set aside.
In the same skillet, add the sliced sausage. Cook for 4-5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until browned and slightly crispy on the edges. Remove and set aside with the broccoli.
Add the remaining 1 tablespoon olive oil to the skillet. Add shrimp and cook for 1-2 minutes per side, until they turn pink and opaque. Remove shrimp and set aside.
Return the broccoli and sausage to the skillet with the shrimp. Pour the honey garlic sauce over everything and stir to coat evenly. Simmer for 3-5 minutes, letting the sauce thicken.
Serve over rice or noodles, or enjoy as is. Garnish with parsley or sesame seeds if desired.
- For extra flavor, marinate the shrimp in 1/3 of the sauce for 20 minutes before cooking.
- Avoid overcooking shrimp—remove when they turn pink to keep them tender.
- Add bell peppers or snap peas for more veggies.
