Ingredients

  • "1 lb large shrimp peeled and deveined",
  • "12 oz smoked sausage like kielbasa, sliced into 1/4-inch rounds",
  • "3 cups fresh broccoli florets about 1 medium head",
  • "3 tablespoons honey"
  • "3 tablespoons soy sauce"
  • "1 tablespoon lemon juice"
  • "4 cloves garlic minced",
  • "1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes optional",
  • "2 tablespoons olive oil divided",
  • "Salt and pepper to taste",
  • "Cooked rice or noodles for serving (optional)",
  • "Fresh parsley or sesame seeds for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, lemon juice, minced garlic, and red pepper flakes (if using). Set aside.
  • Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add broccoli florets and sautĂ© for 3-5 minutes until tender-crisp and bright green. Season with a pinch of salt and pepper. Remove broccoli and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, add the sliced sausage. Cook for 4-5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until browned and slightly crispy on the edges. Remove and set aside with the broccoli.
  • Add the remaining 1 tablespoon olive oil to the skillet. Add shrimp and cook for 1-2 minutes per side, until they turn pink and opaque. Remove shrimp and set aside.
  • Return the broccoli and sausage to the skillet with the shrimp. Pour the honey garlic sauce over everything and stir to coat evenly. Simmer for 3-5 minutes, letting the sauce thicken.
  • Serve over rice or noodles, or enjoy as is. Garnish with parsley or sesame seeds if desired.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, marinate the shrimp in 1/3 of the sauce for 20 minutes before cooking.
  • Avoid overcooking shrimp—remove when they turn pink to keep them tender.
  • Add bell peppers or snap peas for more veggies.
